What design services do you provide?

We design everything from logos to content managed websites. Please contact us to discuss your project and design requirements.

 

What print services do you provide?

Everything that you can think of. In some cases, we may need to research into extraordinary or specialised print items, and we will let you know if we do. As always, a cost is provided before work is carried out.

 

I have a computer and Microsoft Word. Why can’t I just do my own designs?

The simple answer is because it isn’t good enough. The features of programmes like MS Word and Publisher would not allow for a myriad of options on vector design, layout and more. Remember, your branding and marketing materials are often the first point of contact with potential customers. You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. We produce design and marketing materials designed to impress upon potential customers, thus conveying the professionalism of your company and the service that you offer.

 

So what software do you use?

We use licensed copies of Adobe Creative Suite (CS), the world’s leading design suite in graphic and website design, photo editing, publishing and vector design tools.

 

How does the design process work?

We start all projects by thoroughly discussing the details of the brief with you, collecting and establishing the specific requirements. If a quotation has not been given to you by this stage, then this is where we can provide you with an outlay of costs. After which, a deposit is taken and the brief is scheduled into the daily routine.

At pixelthis, we believe that client input is a crucial factor to success. Our designers begin by researching ideas. Sample design visuals are then forwarded via email to the client for feedback. We listen carefully to this feedback, offering solutions and advice in return on any issues that arise. Alterations and amendments are made and work is resubmitted back to the client. This process continues until we receive client approval.

 

What are your payment terms?

All projects require a deposit before any work is carried out. After that, we begin design samples of the logo, layout, styling, etc. and forward you by email copies of the same. Thus you are included in every step of the way.

 

What about paying for a website?

When you are happy for pixelthis to proceed, we take a deposit of €400 or 30%, whichever is the greater. Any costs incurred such as domain name and hosting purchase, email set up, SSL implementation, software purchase, are non-refundable.

 

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept payment in the form of cash, cheque, PayPal and electronic transfer. We can also take payments by credit and debit card on collection and in person with our handy and secure card payment processor.

 

How will I receive the finished design?

Once a client approval has been reached, then an additional or final payment is made. For print jobs the additional payment is required prior to going to print, with the final payment on delivery of the goods.

Once receiving final payments, we will also supply design requests in soft copy format (JPEG, PDF and so on) for your own use.

 

Will I be able to update these files on my computer?

Unfortunately unless you use an Apple Mac computer with the relevant Adobe CS software, you will not be able to view the files or make alterations.

 

How will I receive my printed items?

We provide a free delivery service within a reasonable distance of Tullamore, otherwise a delivery charge for postal or courier servcie is charged. You will be told about this charge in the quotation process.

 

Who owns the copyright for the final designs?

Copyright for all work that pixelthis carries automatically transfers to the client as soon as the balance has been paid. We do, however, reserve the right to use any work for promotional purposes in our own portfolio, online content, social media channels, etc.

 

"I need it today!" Is this possible?

Sometimes customers require our services at very short notice. We can usually accommodate rush jobs depending on the size of the project and how full our production schedule is. These jobs are usually subjected to an additional charge, so don’t leave things till the last minute!

 

Will I be able to edit my own website?

Yes you can, but with certain limitations. Our websites are built on a content management system, or CMS, which allows for client editing of content, adding or taking away pages, changing menu items, adding photos to content and to galleries, and more. The restrictions we have in place concern the layout and design. This is on purpose, as from experience we have had to pick up the pieces because a client tried to edit the layout, messed it up, and had to spend money and lose time on having our designers fix it!

However, if you are somewhat adept at website layouts and have the software that can help you, we can let you have the HTML and CSS files for you to edit (once final payment is received).
